Ranchi, June 10: Hearing on the petition of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in Jharkhand High Court has been completed.
Hemant Soren’s bail plea was heard in the court of High Court Judge Justice Rangon Mukhopadhyay. Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a reply in the court on Monday.
At the same time, Kapil Sibal raised questions on ED’s investigation and evidence.
Kalpana Soren was also present in the court room during the hearing. Kapil Sibal argued for more than an hour on behalf of Hemant Soren. After hearing Kapil Sibal’s argument, the court has fixed the date of next hearing on Wednesday to hear ED’s side.
During the hearing, senior advocate Kapil Sibal, on behalf of Hemant, argued that this case is related to 8.86 acres of land. According to the allegations, the revenue employee tampered with the government documents. ED raided twice. But the agency has not been able to present any document that can prove that Hemant Soren has a connection with this land.
The sections imposed by ED are not correct under PMLA. A story has been fabricated just to send Hemant Soren to jail. Along with this, he also raised questions on the evidence presented by ED so far. Kapil Sibal argued for more than an hour. After which the court has fixed Wednesday’s date to hear ED’s arguments.
