Jamshedpur, July 11: Hidayatullah Khan, Chairman of the Jharkhand State Minority Commission, has declined the position of President of the Central Moharram Committee in Jamshedpur. The decision comes after his unexpected election to the post by 55 Moharram Akhada Committee license holders during his absence on a ten-day tour.

Upon returning, Khan cited his current governmental responsibilities and time constraints as reasons for his inability to accept the position. “As the Commission Chairman, I have to travel extensively throughout the state, making it difficult to dedicate sufficient time to this role,” Khan explained.

In light of this development, Khan has called for a meeting on Friday, July 12, at 5 pm in Naseem Marriage Hall, Jugsalai. He has invited all Moharram committees to attend and form the Central Moharram Committee.

“They can either elect the entire committee, including the president, or form a convener group to oversee the election of committee officials,” Khan stated, offering his assistance in the process.
