Jamshedpur, July 26: Opposition leaders are now giving political dimension to the felicitation function of activists of JP Movement and words have been exchanged recently in this regard.
Former CM & leader of opposition Hemant Soren has expressed fury over this step of the govt.; MLA & minister Saryu Rai replying to Soren�s statement said,�His father is also a product of the JP struggle.� Rai also added that Hemant lacks knowledge & one must not speak with incomplete knowledge.
Rai in an attack to the JP protest said that all state governments formed after 1977 have honoured JP & Jharkhand does not stand alone in this regard.
The exchange of words didn�t end at that he also mentioned of advising the then Arjun Munda led govt. of honouring the freedom fighter, but no such steps were taken.
Hence at subsidiary levels the honourary functions were performed. Rai concluded by the words,� If the govt. has taken the step, it�s a good one.
As far as Soren is concerned, I express my deepest sympathies for him.�
It may be noted that in a ceremony, the state govt. honoured the legendary freedom fighter Jay Prakash Narayan, popularly known as JP or Lok Nayak.
