Ranchi, Nov. 12: Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Amit Khare today said that two state government helicopters made two trips to bring currency notes from Reserve Bank of India, Patna to Jamshedpur and Bokaro.

Yesterday, currency notes were brought from Reserve Bank, Patna to Ranchi. Passenger seats were removed from both the helicopters and cash boxes were put there.

Khare said that additional currency will be brought from Patna to other towns. There is no lack of currency notes in the state but it is taking time to start the ATMs.

Approximately, 50 per cent ATMs of SBI have started functioning but no ATM of Bank of India is functional. Bank of India GM has been asked to sort out technical hindrances and start the ATMs at the earliest.

The Development Commissioner said that Punjab National Bank and Bank of India exchanged currency notes of pilgrims on Hatia Railway Station. These pilgrims were going on pilgrimage under Chief Minister Old-Age People Pilgrimage Scheme.
