HEC Plant lockout continues as talks between management and workers collapse

Ranchi: The Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited (HEC) headquarters is in the grip of a lockout for the second consecutive day, affecting all three plants. The lockout was instigated by company officers and workers seeking resolution for pending salary issues. Despite negotiations between HEC management and workers on Thursday afternoon, a breakthrough was not achieved.

Representatives from the management side included the Director of Personnel, Director of Production, and General Manager Deepak Dubey, along with Prashant Pathak. The worker’s contingent comprised Laldev Singh, Liladhar Singh, Harendra Prasad Yadav, Dilip Singh, Santosh Rai, Prakash Kumar, Girish Chauhan, and MP Ram Chandran, representing various central committees.
The discussions failed to yield concrete decisions regarding the continued operation of HEC and the settlement of outstanding dues. Unresolved issues included the restoration of previous attendance records and the issuance of pay slips to supply workers. The lack of progress in these matters led to the breakdown of negotiations.

In response to the failed talks, workers are planning to convene a meeting to strategize and potentially escalate their movement. The delegation is demanding the presence of the Chairman in future discussions, emphasizing that meaningful dialogue can only occur under these conditions.
