DIG urges vigilance against organized crime and coal theft in Dhanbad

Dhanbad: Surendra Kumar Jha, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Bokaro Range, conducted a crucial meeting with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and other police officials in the district on Thursday. The primary focus of the meeting was on addressing crimes within Dhanbad, emphasizing detection strategies and providing comprehensive guidelines.

Particular attention was given to tackling economic crime and organized crime during the meeting, with specific instructions to identify individuals involved in such activities. The DIG underscored the need for stringent measures to control coal theft, emphasizing that alongside ensuring safe production, preventing coal theft remains a top priority.

The SSP of the district received explicit directives to exercise complete control over coal theft, smuggling, and coal stockpiling. The DIG emphasized that proactive action should be taken against all individuals engaged in these illicit activities. Each police station was instructed to clamp down on illegal businesses within their respective jurisdictions.

In addition to addressing crime-related matters, the meeting also saw discussions on maintaining law and order in the district. With the upcoming inauguration of the Ramlala temple on January 22, the officials received specific instructions on security arrangements. The DIG directed the deployment of police officers and personnel at sensitive locations to ensure a smooth and secure event.
