Final round of talks underway as March 31 deadline approaches
Jamshedpur, March 22: The much-awaited grade revision agreement at Tata Cummins is expected to be finalized soon, as negotiations between the management and the recognized TC Employees’ Union have reached their final stage.
Following the recent conclusion of a similar agreement at Tata Motors Jamshedpur, focus has now shifted to Tata Cummins, where pressure is mounting on the union to secure a deal at the earliest. Sources indicate that discussions have progressed positively and an announcement could be made in the coming days.
Around 764 employees of the company are closely watching the developments, as the agreement will determine their wages, benefits, and service conditions for the coming years.
The urgency has increased with the current agreement set to expire on March 31. Union representatives have intensified efforts to ensure that a new agreement is reached within the deadline to avoid uncertainty.
According to sources, the upcoming agreement is likely to follow the pattern of Tata Motors and may be signed for a four-year term. However, the final outcome will depend on how quickly both sides resolve the remaining issues.
Employees remain hopeful that the negotiations will conclude soon with a favorable deal.
