Ranchi, June 14: Jharkhand continued to grapple with relentless heat wave, with temperatures soaring above 40 degrees Celsius across most districts. Despite the anticipation for rainfall, the Meteorological Department offered little respite, forecasting severe heat wave conditions in several districts over the next two days.

The Meteorological Center in Ranchi warned of severe heat wave conditions in Garhwa, Palamu, West Singhbhum, Saraikela-Kharsawan, and East Singhbhum on June 15, Saturday, issuing an orange alert for these areas. Additionally, Simdega, Gumla, Ranchi, Khunti, Lohardaga, Hazaribagh, Bokaro, Chatra, Latehar, Koderma, and Ramgarh were also likely to experience heat wave conditions.

Looking ahead to June 16, Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra, Latehar, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, and Saraikela are expected to remain under the grip of a heat wave, with relief anticipated in other districts. However, from June 15 to 17, thunderstorms are forecasted in various parts of many districts, including Ranchi and Gumla, with an orange alert issued for potential wind speeds reaching 40 to 50 km per hour.

Despite expectations, monsoon has yet to make its presence felt in Jharkhand, with continued delays reported by the Meteorological Department. While predictions suggested monsoon onset around June 17, scientists speculated that it was likely to enter Jharkhand by June 18 or 19, as the monsoon currently hovered over Bengal.
