Jamshedpur: A 15-year-old Class 10 student, Durga Charan, allegedly committed suicide in Harharguttu, Parsudih on Thursday evening, following a breakup with his girlfriend.
Durga, a cricket enthusiast and trainee at Cable Town Cricket Academy, was deeply disturbed after his girlfriend ended their four-year-long relationship. His elder brother, Ghanshyam, stated that Durga had been showing signs of distress in recent days.
On Thursday, Durga left home and went to a relative’s house. He locked himself inside a room and hanged himself. When his relatives broke open the door, they found him lifeless. He was immediately rushed to Khasmahal Sadar Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
The police were notified immediately and Durga’s body was sent for post-mortem before being handed over to his grieving family.
