Jamshedpur, July 10: On the third day of the week-long Shrimad Bhagwat Katha being held at Bistupur Tulsi Bhawan, narrator (Katha Vachak) Sitaram Shastri delivered a discourse on the redemption of Ajamila, the character of Bhakt Prahlad and Narasimha Avatar.

In the course of his narration, Pandit Sitaram Shastri observed, “Only a heart devoid of ego can truly offer reverence to the Lord. Renouncing ego is a virtue, but devotion teaches us that if we cannot let go of our ego, then we should submit it at the feet of the Lord. ‘I belong to God, and God belongs to me’ is an ego that is sought by sages.”

While narrating the story of Bhakt (devotee) Prahlad, the narrator stated that a true seeker never blamed circumstances. No one had ever experienced the same situation repeatedly in life. “Satsang (association with the truth) does not change circumstances; it strengthens the state of mind. Saints have also given this message: do not postpone situations, manage your mental state,” he said.

On the fourth day, Tuesday, July 11, Maharaj Ji will narrate the story of Vamana Avatar, the birth of Lord Rama, the advent of Lord Krishna, and the celebration of Nandotsav.

On behalf of the joint organizers Jharkhand Marwari Mahila Sammelan (JMMS) and Marwari Mahila Manch (MMM) Jamshedpur, Pandit Sitaram Shastri presented two sewing machines to needy women under the Women Empowerment project.

Earlier, on Monday morning, the following ten hosts, Usha Bagri, Rupa Agarwal, Manju Maheshwari, Preeti Agarwal, Sushma Agarwal, Kiran Debuka, Purushottam Debuka, Abhishek Goldie, Saroj Kauntia and Prakhar Mishra jointly performed the puja. During the Bhagwat Katha, Mukesh Mittal, Sandeep Murarka, Abhishek Agarwal Goldie, Kamal Kishore Agarwal and others paid their respects at the Darbar of Banke Bihari and participated in the Katha.
