Headmaster of Bhalubasa Harijan Vidyalaya allegedly beats girl students

Jamshedpur : A group of parents of students in Bhalubasa Harijan Uccha Vidyalaya protested against punishment given to girl students on Friday morning.

Several parents staged demonstration and raised slogans against Abdul Majid, the headmaster of the school, who has been accused to have caned the girl students of class IX on Thursday.

Sources informed that the students beaten for roaming in the school corridor during the interval.

According to the sources one of the students Priyanka Dey fainted after reaching home at Bhuiyandih on Thursday evening. She was then rushed to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College and Hospital in Sakchi by her parents. The student then shared her plight to her parents.

The parents were angered as one of the students of that class Priyanka Dey, fell ill to severe beating by the headmaster.

The girl fainted after reaching home at Nandnagar in Bhuiyandih on Thursday evening. She was rushed to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College and Hospital in Sakchi where she was administered saline before being released in the night.

The other students and friends of Priyanka said that they were caned mercilessly without any proper reason. The headmaster Abdul Majid, was so furious that he caned twice after the girls were seen in tears.

Father of Priyanka, filed a complaint with the Sitaramdera police station in this regard today. He demanded immediate action against the headmaster.
