Jamshedpur, Feb 6: Continuous train cancellations on Hatia, Bilaspur and other routes due to line blocks in Chakradharpur and Ranchi railway divisions have caused significant inconvenience to passengers. Since January 5, the Tatanagar-Hatia and Tatanagar-Bilaspur Express trains have been canceled for a total of 25 days, severely affecting thousands of passengers from Jharkhand and Odisha. Meanwhile, goods trains continue to run at full speed despite the ongoing line block.
According to the South East Zone Railway, the cancellations will persist, with the Tatanagar-Hatia and Bilaspur Express trains remaining suspended from February 5 to 16 due to a line block in Adra division. Additionally, the Dhanbad-Jhargram MEMU train will not operate on February 7 and 9. Earlier, the Ranchi division’s line block led to the suspension of the Tatanagar-Hatia Express and Tatanagar-Bilaspur Express from January 20 to February 2. The Tatanagar-Hatia Express was also canceled from January 7 to 16, the Tatanagar-Bilaspur Express from January 6 to 16 and the Tata-Hatia MEMU from January 7 to 12.
Beyond these cancellations, passengers have faced disruptions on other routes as well. Several trains from Dhanbad and Asansol were either halted at Purulia or Adra instead of completing their full journey due to similar operational constraints throughout January. The persistent disruptions have sparked concerns among travelers, who are urging the railways to provide alternative solutions or restore normal services at the earliest.
