Gutsy Girl injured in road accident a week before exam

Jamshedpur: She was on her way to market when she met with a road accident. The accident completely damaged her forehead, upper and lower lips but could not dampen her spirit. She continued her studies at home, appeared for this year�s CBSE Class 12 exams and when the results were out, her hard work paid off as she scored 75.2 percent.

This is the story of Avneet Kaur Sahani (18), a resident of Shiv Singh Bagan in Agrico.

Residing with her mother as her father passed away few years ago, Avneet Kaur on a fateful evening in just a week before her CBSE Class 12 exam met with a critical road accident.

�I was on the way to the market and all of a sudden a bike coming from the opposite direction collided with me and all of a sudden I found myself lying on the busy road. At the same moment the thing which came to my mind was class 12 exams which were just a week ahead and was completely in a crack about missing my papers.

But the same time I prayed to god and hoped for complete recovery and was limited to 12 stitches on the forehead and upper and lower lips,� added the brave teenager.

�I had really lost all hope after the fateful accident�, Avneet said, adding, �But it was my mother who not only encouraged me ever since but also worked with me round the clock till I finished my CBSE exams.�

Her mother Harjeet Kaur Sahani was the all along her in this difficult phase and helped her revise lessons and with the help of doctor�s advice she was recovering well.

�I faced severe difficulties while studying as my forehead would start aching when I took pressure in studies but as I studied the whole year and was mostly present in the tuition classes it helped me a lot. The most important thing was that I had no fractures which helped me sit through my papers,� said Avneet, who plans to go for B. Com (Honours) studies.
