Ranchi, Jan 16: In a daring incident of robbery, three businessmen were targeted on their journey from Kolkata to Ranchi. On Tuesday morning, four armed individuals, posing as fellow passengers, looted a total of Rs 18 lakh from the unsuspecting victims. The incident unfolded on National Highway-33 in the Dasham police station area.
The victims, who had traveled to Kolkata for business purposes, were returning to Ranchi with the substantial sum of money when the robbery occurred. The criminals, having blended in as regular passengers, executed their plan when the bus reached Bundu around 5:30 in the morning.
The police provided details, stating that the three businessmen were on the bus from Kolkata on Monday night. As it traveled towards Ranchi, the perpetrators seized the opportunity near Bundu, brandishing firearms and making off with the stolen cash.
The traders, now at the center of a police investigation, reported the loss of Rs 18 lakh. Authorities have registered a case based on their complaint, and a search operation is underway to apprehend the suspects involved in the daylight heist
