Jamshedpur: Gulmohur High School has introduced Project Diksha, a new peer mentorship initiative aimed at nurturing leadership skills among its students. The program, led by senior students from classes 9 to 12, is designed to offer younger students valuable insights and skills for success in inter-school competitions.

Project Diksha integrates digital technology and personalized learning to enhance educational experiences. It emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy, preparing students for future challenges. The program commenced with a series of activities during the Thursday Activity Class, where students from classes 6, 7, and 8 participated in workshops organized by various school clubs.

Highlights of the activities included the Computer Club’s introduction to HTML webpage design, the Photography Club’s basics of cinematography, and the English Editorial Club’s focus on building confidence through editorial skills. The Art & Craft Club engaged students in creating teaching aids for primary classes, while the Young Chef Club offered lessons in culinary skills and healthy cooking. The Dramatics Club worked on overcoming stage fright and enhancing mental agility. Additionally, the Young Leaders Programme provided insights into leadership and event management, the Safe Club covered school, cyber, and road safety, including emergency first aid, and the Environment Club involved crafting bird feeders from natural materials.

Project Diksha reflects Gulmohur High School’s dedication to creating a supportive and enriching learning environment. Led by Gargi Mukherjee and Indrani Tiwary, the initiative aims to develop leadership qualities in both mentees and mentors, significantly enhancing the overall educational experience.
