Gulmohur High School Jamshedpur launches ‘Miles of Smiles’ initiative

Jamshedpur, March 20: Gulmohur High School took a major step toward redefining education by launching the “Miles of Smiles” Happy School Programme, an initiative aimed at creating a positive, inclusive, and joyful learning environment in the upcoming academic year.

At the core of this initiative is the Happiness Charter, a shared commitment by students, teachers, and parents to cultivate an atmosphere of encouragement, support, and well-being. Inspired by UNESCO’s Happy School Guide and Toolkit, the program seeks to prioritize student happiness, making learning an enjoyable and fulfilling journey.

As part of the initiative, students participated in a creative activity called “Draw Your Feelings.” Each student illustrated an emoji representing their current emotions—happiness, excitement, curiosity, or nervousness. The classrooms buzzed with energy as students shared their drawings and reflected on their emotions, fostering self-awareness and empathy.

The celebration extended to the school assembly, where students enthusiastically performed a “Happy Song” and “Happy Dance”, filling the campus with laughter and positive energy. These interactive activities not only encouraged self-expression but also strengthened peer connections, making the school environment warm and supportive.

“By embedding happiness as a core value, we aim to transform education into a journey filled with smiles, growth, and fulfillment,” said a school representative.
