Jamshedpur, Nov 18: A grand Ecological Diversity Park is being developed in the Chakulia market area, approximately 80 km from Jamshedpur, at a cost of Rs 15 crore. The Forest Department is constructing the park on 78 acres of land, with an emphasis on promoting environmental sustainability while offering a variety of recreational amenities for visitors. The park is expected to be completed in 10 days, with construction underway for over a year.
The park will feature several attractions, including a music fountain, a gazebo, a children’s entertainment center, a Chhath Ghat, a temple, a pond, and a swimming pool. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a cafeteria, a VIP guest house, and a rest house. Additionally, a labyrinth and a plant nursery will add to the park’s charm.
“Currently, the pavers are being laid, and Mexican grass has been planted throughout the park. Ten gazebos have been constructed for visitors to relax, and decorative plants from Kolkata have been added to beautify the area,” said a spokesperson for the Forest Department. The park is already drawing visitors who come to stroll and enjoy the green space.
The construction is being handled by United Nursery from Kolkata, which is also responsible for bringing in all the necessary plants and decoration materials. “The park is being designed with the highest environmental standards in mind, ensuring a balance between leisure and ecological conservation,” added the spokesperson.
One of the highlights of the park will be the grand Chhath Ghat, designed to attract religious tourists. The swimming pool, music fountain, and grand entrance will serve as key attractions, further enhancing the park’s appeal.
Security will be a priority, with guards stationed throughout the park. In addition to benefiting the local population of Chakulia, the park will also attract visitors from nearby regions, including Baharagora, Ghatshila, Gidni in West Bengal, and Jhargram. The park is located just 2 km from the Chakulia Railway Station, making it easily accessible to tourists.
With its array of facilities, the Ecological Diversity Park is poised to become a major tourist destination in the region, promoting both leisure and environmental awareness.
