Chaibasa, May 30: State urban development Minister CP Singh on Tuesday chaired a meeting of Chakradharpur Municipality and later a Chaibasa Municipality meet at circuit house.
After the meeting the minister while addressing the media said, the state government is fully focused on Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and the construction of toilets as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The central government is providing Rs 1.5 lakh whereas the state government gives additional Rs 75 thousand for the construction of a single house under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
The amount would be released as soon as the scheme is approved to the beneficiary in phase wise and that to be monitored by authorities and ward commissioner.
The delay in the projects means something is wrong on the part of the authorities and such officers would be dealt very seriously.
Minister Singh laid stress on the team spirit to implement all these scheme whereas Chaibasa Municipality does not have the team spirit.
The officers at the Chaibasa municipality always accuse one another which leads to mismanagement and the monthly meeting which is scheduled is also not be held from a long time.
Minister CP Singh said we have warmed the officers and asked them to honour the elected representatives. While mentioning about the urban drinking water project scheme 2013-2018, Singh further said that Chaibasa Municipality has not yet been able to lay pipe lines to supply water to every household.
He added that if the amount is paid and the work is not executed then the concerning officers would be dealt in accordance with the law.
He also mentioned that our municipalities do not have sufficient number of staffs. So we have created 1200 posts through JPSC.
He also mentioned that we have prepared master plan for town expansion till 2040 the copy of the planning should be handed over to the concerning local MLA and MPs.
Minister Singh also appealed to all ward commissioner to visit door to door to convince the beneficiary to avail of the opportunity of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and toilets construction as these are totally dedicated to the poor people.
Meanwhile cheques were also distributed by the minister to the beneficiaries. Present at the meeting were Municipal chairman Neela Nag , Executive officer Kumar Narendra Narayan and the representatives of political parties.
