Jadugora: The Mukhiya of Gwalkanta panchayat of Jadugora, Sitaram Hansda, laid the foundation stone for the proposed water tower in Podsaduma village for the local Sabar population on Tuesday.
Sources said the proposed water tower will be constructed at an expense of Rs 3.60 lakh by the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, Jamshedpur.
Soon after the inauguration, the Mukhiya said the tower would facilitate smooth supply of drinking water to the Sabars. He said the Sabars at present fetch water from hand-pumps and ponds.
Among others present on the occasion included Ashok Nayak, Dr Bhavtesh Bhakta, Kedarnath Murmu, Lakhan Nayak, Abhay Nayak and Vinod Sardar.
