Jamshedpur, March 12: Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu on Saturday said that knowing one�s mother tongue is of utmost important in everyone�s life.
�Irrespective of whether one desires to become a teacher, doctor or an engineer, schooling is the first step towards fulfilling their ambitions. The education received in school forms the foundation of knowledge throughout one�s life,� she said.
Addressing a gathering at the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Oriya Urdu School at Baharagora near here today, the Governor said, �Education is of crucial for success in life and even women should be adequately educated. When women are educated, they become capable to taking their society and culture ahead.�
On this occasion, the Governor also assured the gathering that she would take up the issue of granting high school (+2) status to the local Khandamouda High School.
Several dignitaties, including ministers from the neighboring state of Odisha, Baharagora MLA Kunal Sarangi, East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Amitabh Kaushal and SSP Anoop Mathew were present at the function.
