Jamshedpur, March 12: Unidentified miscreants decamped with valuables worth Rs. 2.50 lakh and Rs. 20,000 in cash from an apartment in Ganga Vihar, a residential complex in Baliguma under the jurisdiction of the MGM police station area.
According to available information, the owner of the apartment Pramod Kumar had left for his village along with his entire family on February 25 to participate in the final rites of his mother. When the family returned to the city and reached home at 7 a.m. on Saturday, they were shocked to see the lock of their apartment broken.
Inside the flat, they found that the bedroom door was ajar, while someone had broken open the almirah there.
Clothes and other materials were strewn all over the room. After assessing the room, Pramod Kumar found that cash worth Rs. 20,000 in addition to jewelry and other valuables worth Rs. 2.50 lakh were missing.
Soon Pramod Kumar rushed to the MGM police station to lodge an FIR in connection with the crime. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and begun probing into the incident.
It is worth mentioning here that there has been a spurt in burglaries and snatching incidents in the city and adjoining areas in the recent months and the police have failed in solving any of the cases.
