Jamshedpur, Jan. 21: Jharkhand governor Droupadi Murmu on Monday launched Hindi version of news portal, The People TV at a function organised in a city hotel. Addressing the inaugural ceremony she said that Media is the ‘fourth estate’ of democracy. It is ideally the watchdog of the democracy. She said that authenticity of the news is very important as it has direct impact on the society.
In his address, Food and Civil Supplies Minister spoke on importance of social media in the fast changing scenario of news world.
Murmu also inaugurated the Chancellor’s Trophy here at JRD Tata Complex. Chancellor’s Trophy in boxing and archery is being hosted by Kolhan University at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.
