Gita Devi passes away, daughter lights funeral pyre

Jamshedpur, Nov 19: Gita Devi, mother of Kolhan Region women’s wing president of Antrashtriya Vaishya Mahasammelan Sunita Jaiswal passed away at their Kasidih residence on Thursday morning. She suffered a massive coronary attack. She was 77 years old. Gita Devi had been ill since th last few days. Her funeral rites were performed at the Swarnrekha crematorium. Sunita being the sole child of her parents, performed the ritual of a son by lighting her mother’s funeral pyre.

On receiving the news of the demise of Gita Devi, the state president of of the Antrashtriya Vaishya Mahasammelan Mohanlal Agrawal, executive president Ramdaras Chowdhary, general secretary Shankar Mittal, treasurer Pyarelal Shah, spokesman Akash Shah and other members offered their condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the peace of the departed’s soul.
