Jamshedpur: A standard XII student of DAV School, NIT, Shreya Shruti, 17, committed suicide by jumping off the six storied City Palace apartment at Sher-e-Punjab Chowk, Adityapur, on Tuesday.
Investigators said the girl committed suicide under fear of poor result in standard XII. The CBSE results of standard XII were supposed to be out today. Cops seized suicidal notes from the house of the deceased. The minor was upset and apprehensive of her performance in science and math papers, police said.
Sources said the girl jumped off the building around 5.30 am. She died at the scene. Later, local residents informed Adityapur police about the incident around 7 am.
Police registered a case of unnatural death in this connection.
The girl, daughter of GK Sinha, an LIC agent, left behind two notes, one addressed to her mother while the other addressed to her younger brother Raj.
She expressed her disappointment over her performance in the CBSE standard XII examinations. She was reportedly upset as the results were about to be published.
