Civil Court staff and advocates to get entry pass

Jamshedpur: In view of recent gangwar that erupted on Jamshedpur civil court premises, district police has decided to beef up security at the court precincts further by issuing entry pass to the court staff and advocates.

Senior superintendent of police (SSP), East Singhbhum, Amol Venukant Homkar, said the decision to issue entry passes to the court staff and advocates was taken in a meeting of district police with the principal district and sessions judge Vijay Anant Singh.

The meeting was also attended by the deputy commissioner (DC) Dr Amitabh Kaushal. It was convened on the issue of enhancing security cover in and around the court in the aftermath of the attack on life sentence convict Akhilesh Singh on Saturday last.

Sources said the principal district and sessions judge had expressed satisfaction over the security arrangement on the court premises made after the attack on Akhilesh Singh. It was decided to continue the three layer security arrangement at the court precincts. There will not be any curtailment in the security arrangements.

The SSP said the entry pass idea will be implemented to make sure that the security guards do not face difficulty in identifying the court staff and advocates.

The security meeting was also attended by SP (city) Kartik S, SP (rural) Shailendra Kumar Sinha, District Bar Association president Mukti Pado Banerjee and general secretary Anil Tiwary.
