Ghatsila residents demand bridge construction

Jamshedpur: The residents of Ghatsila are a harassed lot these days owing to the delay in construction of a bridge that would connect Jhanti Jharna to Dayanmari.

The present bridge at the proposed site was constructed earlier under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Due to its unsuitability for use, the villagers use the Dayanmari Basadera main road via Sindrigram. The construction had reportedly not taken place as per the standard set by the government.

Local Mukhiya Sukumar Singh had informed the district authorities concerned and sought reconstruction of the bridge. Despite passage of four months, the bridge construction has not started, said the Mukhiya.
