Jamshedpur, June 12: Summer vacation is over and children are back in schools. Attired in brand-new uniforms, the children turned up at their respective schools in Jamshedpur, after more than 40 days long summer vacation.
The Government and aided schools, and also many unaided schools reopened for the new academic year.
School students returned back to their schools to concentrate on their studies, in the steel city. The campuses were abuzz with activities as the tiny tots carrying their back returned to their campus.
It was definitely not what we wanted. We wanted to enjoy the vacation with a tension-free mindset, put in Rashi Singh a student of Loyola school.
While students had their own tales of woe, the principals presented their own case to justify their stand. Today, every individual has to live under an optimum amount of pressure.
This is especially true of the student community, who have to strike a balance between academics and enjoyment, said a principal. I agree that it might have dampened their spirits to a certain extent, but the host of in-house events I have chalked for them wont be possible otherwise, added the principal.
Even as students complained about examination-phobia dampening their spirits, some managed to share in the revelry with friends. Summer vacations come once in a year and we enjoyed each and every day to the fullest.
We spent a week at hill station and after coming back I studied for a couple of hours every day but also went for evening stroll with my friends and family, said Debjyoti Dutta of Rajendra Vidyalaya School, with an excitement hard to miss in his voice.
