Ghatshila, August 4: Ghatshila Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), Satyavir Rajak chaired a meeting to review programmes that will be organized to celebrate the 75th year of India’s independence that is being celebrated nationwide as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
SDO Satyavir Rajak stated that due to the COVID-19 pandemic holding sway, the Independence Day celebrations during the past couple of years were low key, but this year, the relaxation in norms will allow for befitting celebrations of 75 years of independence. “Permisiion allow for organizing Prabhat Pheri and Tiranga Yatra. However, the instructions regarding Independence Day celebrations issued by the State Government and the district administration, will be followed verbatim,” said the Ghatshila SDO.
He instructed that BDOs and Cos will visit homes of freedom fighters in their respective command areas and honour the family members.
All officials, representatives of various institutions and local intellectuals present in the meeting discussed and suggested ways to make the celebrations for 75 years of Independence memorable. Responsibilities were distributed among officials to ensure success of Azadi Ka Mahotsav celebrations a success.
The flag hoisting ceremony on August 15 will be held at 8:15 am at the SDM’s office while at the Raj Estate Maidan, the flag will be unfurled at 10:10 am. A total of 11 platoons including two NCC teams will participate in the parade at Rajasthan Maidan in Ghatshila rehearsals for which will be performed on August 10 and 12.
Medical teams and ambulances will be on standby during the parade rehearsals and on August 15. The Medical Officer-in-Charge, Sub-Divisional Hospital, Ghatshila was directed to ensure arrangements while HCL personnel were directed to ensure cleanliness at the grounds.
The meeting was attended by, among others, PO Kuldip Toppo, Executive Magistrate Jaiprakash Karmali, Ghatshila BDO S Abhinav, Rajiv Kumar, Circle Officer Ghatshila SP Gupta, SHO Ghatshila Sonu Kumar, Moubhandar OP In-charge Saket Kumar Sinha, HCL/ICC representative Anand Agarwal, Fakir Chandra Agrawal, Suresh Singh Chauhan and teachers of various schools were present.
