Ranchi, April 21: With four new cases identified on Wednesday, April 22, total count of COVID-19 infected persons increased to 49 in Jharkhand. First positive case was found in Ranchi on March 29 after a Malaysian woman who had attended Tablighi Jamaat in Nizamuddin, was tested positive on March 31.
‘Three more positive case of COVID19 reported in Hindpiri, Ranchi and one in Garhwa. The total number of positive cases in Jharkhand rises to 49, ‘ said Jharkhand Health secretary Nitin Madan Kulkarni.
Officials in the health department told that out of the four new cases, one is from Garhwa, while the other three persons belong to Hindpiri area of Ranchi, the hotspot of Coronavirus in Jharkhand. Garhwa on Wednesday became the ninth district in Jharkhand to report COVID-19 case. Of the 24 districts, 9 have reported Corona cases. Apart from Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Bokaro, Koderma, Giridih, Simdega, Dhanbad and Deoghar have positive cases. Red Zone Ranchi’s Hindpiri has till date reported 27 cases while Bedo and Bariatu have one corona case each. The total deaths have risen to three while more than 4500 suspected have been examined. Total case in Ranchi have risen to 29, Bokaro 10, Hazaribagh 3, Two each in Dhanbad and Simdega while Deoghar, Giridih, Koderma and Garhwa have one case each. So far, only nine people in the state have been cured of the disease.
