Jamshedpur, May 5: Motilal Sahu, the prime suspect in ganja smuggling operation, has been apprehended by the Kowali police station in East Singhbhum district. The arrest followed a recent raid on a hotel conducted by the police, where ganja sales were uncovered.
Initially, the police detained a ganja seller from the hotel premises and subsequently jailed him. Subsequently, efforts were intensified to locate Motilal, the alleged supplier of the contraband. Following thorough investigation, the police apprehended Motilal.
Concerns have been raised about the rising drug addiction among the youth in various villages within the jurisdiction of the Kowali police station. Kowali police station in-charge Dhananjay Kumar Paswan mobilized a team to conduct raids, leading to the arrest of Suku Mahakud, the ganja seller, on April 22.
Currently, Motilal has been remanded to judicial custody as investigations continue into the ganja smuggling network.
