Gamharia: Zila Parishad (ZP) member Pinky Mandal and President Adivasi-Moolvasi Bhumi Raksha Morcha (AMBRM)-cum-Chief Advisor Sangram Mardi visited Hudu Primary Health centre (PHC) under Kandra PS and took note on the prevailing state of affairs. Both, Pinky Mandal and Sangram Mardi expressed their displeasure over the existing conditions.
Pinky said, “This is an extremist affected area and yet there is no security at this health centre. This is a very serious matter and I will take up this issue with the Deputy Commissioner.”
ANM Meena Devi who was present at the Hudu PHC during the visit informed that Home Guard jawans had been posted there earlier but since the past couple of years there had been no such posting. She also pointed out that tere was a shortage of staff at the health centre.
The ZP member, reacting to the information of staff crunch at the Hudu PHC, said, “The state government has all resources to run health centres smoothly. In spite of it, the condition at the Hudu Primary Health Centre is appalling, to say the least. There is no security arrangement here. A dearth of lab technicians, pharmacists, Class IV employees and security guards paints a gloomy picture. I will certainly draw the attention of the state government and district administration to these prevailing ills.”
Sangram Mardi who was also irritated said, “If the government does not provide all the facilities at this health center within a month, we will be forced to take recourse to agitation that will include villagers in front of the district headquarter.” Mardi said the shortcomings observed during the Hudu PHC visit would be conveyed to the Jharkhand Governor, Chief Minister, Health Minister and the district Deputy Commissioner and Civil Surgeon and a demand made for adequate components to enable the centre to serve its purpose.
