Gamharia: JBVNL GM sounded on rural power woes

Gamharia, August 9: Exasperated villagers of six Panchayats under Kandra police station who have been plagued by erratic and inadequate power supply, met the GM of the JBVNL, Shravan Kumar in a delegation comprising former Sarpanch of Kandra Panchayat, Honi Singh Munda, social worker Ram Mahato, former Deputy Sarpanch Anil Singh, senior journalist Durga Rao and Ranjit Modak to discuss problems at Substation 3, Feeder No 6. Shravan Kumar assured the delegation that all issues would be resolved soon.

The General Manager also mentioned that a contractor had been appointed for Kandra and Feeder No 6, who would complete the maintenance work on cables and poles within two weeks. Additionally, 50 poles, wires, and 10 ABB switches had been provided for the area. The General Manager instructed the Executive Engineer to call nearby electricians, junior engineers, and assistant engineers of the Electricity Department to the office on Friday. Kumar stated that the Electricity Department was committed to the consumers and efforts would be made to ensure proper electricity supply.
