Jamshedpur, August 9: The Tatanagar branch of Nikhil Bharat Bangiya Sahitya Sammelan paid rich tributes to Kobi Guru Rabindranath by organizing a ‘Mahaprayan Divas’ (Death Anniversary) programme of the immortal poet’s songs and poems at Parsudih Club Road in Parsudih Pramathanagar. The event commenced with the offering of floral tributes to the Bard.
Noted Ravindra Sangeet vocalist and the Cultural Secretary of the organization, Rajendra Sah Raj, mesmerized the audience with his sensitive renditions of immortal songs composed by Rabindranath Tagore. Secretary Shankar Sur along with Anamika Sur, Manatosh Basu, Anita Basu, Anjana Dey, Leela Ray Chowdhury, Indrani Majumdar, Meena Das Gupta, Soma Bose, and Nupur Goswami also captivated the audience with their immaculate presentations.
Several members recited Vishwa Guru’s poem compositions. Jaya Mukherjee anchored the programme. Nabendu Pal provided accompaniment on tabla. The vote of thanks was delivered by Manatosh Basu.
