Jamshedpur, August 10: A much looked- forward-to KALEIDOSCOPE 2K24 was an Inter School gala event organized on Saturday by the Junior Section of Loyola School. The theme was ‘To Infinity and beyond…’ The events brought forth the spirit of competition and a quest to acquire more knowledge among the students between Std 1 and 5. It was inaugurated at the Fasy Auditorium with a lot of fanfare. The welcome address was delivered by teacher Neetu Sardana. After the lighting of the traditional lamp, School Rector, Fr KM Joseph SJ recited a prayer.
The opening Yoga Dance by Std 4 and 5 students and the theme song sung by the school choir created the ambience for the Fest. The Chief Guest for the opening ceremony, Father Kuruvilla declared the Fest Open. Over 500 students from 22 schools participated in the various events.
An array of 8 breath-taking events was conducted. ‘Return of the Aliens’, a fancy dress competition by the students of Std 1, saw the participants dressed in alien- themed costumes. ‘Cosmic Trivia Quiz’ on space, space research, astronomy and celestial bodies was organized for the students of Std 4 and 5 which turned out to be a cutting edge competition and had ample nail-biting moments. ‘Star Words’ for students of Std 5 included a space-themed photograph where participants had to build a story based on it.
The dance show, ‘Moonwalk’ and the singing competition, ‘Sunny Side Up’ for students of Stds 2 and 3 enhanced the prevailing excitement. The use of graffiti art that gave chance to the students of Std 5 to draw and colour their own interpretation of Vincent Van Gogh’s painting, ‘The Starry Night’ put to test the participants’ power of imagination. ‘Shipshape’ was an event for the students of Std 4 and 5 to design a spaceship in MS Paint on the computer. ‘The Celestial Walk’ was a fashion show by the students of Std 5 in which the models wore costumes inspired by the celestial bodies, walking down the ramp with poise. The presentations made by the students and the variety of events came in for allround appreciation. The closing ceremony was marked by the felicitation of the Chief Guest, Father David Vincent, followed by a song and dance performance by the students. School Principal, Fr Vinod Fernandes, in his speech, congratulated the participating schools and the students for the success of ‘Kaleidoscope 2K24.’
The overall championship trophy was bagged by Gulmohar English School while Carmel Junior College came in as the First Runners Up. The chief guest gave away the prizes. Vice Principal of the Junior Section, Vineeta F Ekka offered the vote of thanks.
