Jamshedpur, August 10: Former Health Minister Dr. Dinesh Kumar Sharangi, speaking from his Baharagora residence, expressed happiness following the approval of several key railway connections, a longstanding demand of the people in the tribal-dominated districts of Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar in Odisha, as well as East Singhbhum in Jharkhand. The Budhamara-Chakulia railway line, Bangariposi-Gurumahisani railway line, and Badampahar -Keonjhar railway line had been given the green signal by the Minister of Economic Affairs under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dr. Sharangi extended gratitude on behalf of the local population to President Droupadi Murmu, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and former Union Ministers Vishwaeshwar Tudu and Pratap Chandra Sarangi (Baleshwar MP), as well as Naya Charan Majhi, the husband of Mayurbhanj’s current MP. He also offered his congratulations on this significant achievement.

The approval of the 60 km railway line marks the culmination of a struggle that began in 1977. The new railway line is expected to benefit East Singhbhum, Baharagora, Gudabanda, Saraskona, Bangriposi in Odisha, and Gopiballabhpur and Nayagram blocks in West Bengal, providing these places with much-needed railway connectivity. This development will reduce the travel distance between New Delhi and key destinations like Bhubaneswar, Puri, and the ports of Chandbali, Dhamra, Paradeep, and Visakhapatnam by approximately 100 kilometers. Additionally, it is anticipated to drive economic growth, promote all-round development, and significantly boost tourism in the world-famous Shimlipal Biosphere.
