Jamshedpur: The fourth edition of the Jharkhand National Film Festival kicked off with a lamp lighting ceremony at Karim City College on Wednesday. Dr. Mohammad Riaz, the college’s Principal, welcomed the attendees by presenting a bouquet of flowers. The event saw the presence of esteemed guests such as Purvi Ghosh, Shalini Prasad, Sita Singh, Bipendra Sinha, and Mithilesh Kumar.
The Principal highlighted the significance of hosting the fourth edition of the Jharkhand National Film Festival in the steel city of Jamshedpur. He emphasized that the festival offers a valuable opportunity for individuals involved in film production to acquire new knowledge and serves as a platform for showcasing new ideas and creativity to the public.
Dr. Neha Tiwari, Head of the Karim City Mass Communication Department, announced that the festival would feature a selection of films from India and abroad. Experts would lead discussions on topics related to film production. Karim City College provides instruction on film production subjects, offering students a chance to exhibit their artistic talents. The festival is scheduled to run until November 7.
Sanjay Uday Satpathy, the event organizer, shared that renowned cine actress Mandakini and Padmashree Mukund Nayak, a distinguished guest from Jharkhand, would grace the awards ceremony at the Jharkhand Film Festival’s grand finale. The award night ceremony will be held at the XLRI Auditorium, with the participation of Jhollywood artists.
