Seraikela, April 28: The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge (II) Kankan Pattadar sentenced four persons to rigorous life imprisonment for killing a woman after branding her a witch.
The convicts, Chana Murmu, Champa Murmu, Rajli Devi and Labha Tudu alias Bhalu Ojha, were found guilty under Section 302 of IPC. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each on the convicts.
The case dates back to 23rd August 2018, when the accused persons had barged into the house of Malho Devi in Hanumatbera village under Rajnagar police station area and killed her after accusing her of practicing witchcraft.
