Jamshedpur: Four cattle traders who were nabbed by cow vigilantes were with a dozen cows and three calves by the cow vigilantes at Baridih in Sidhgora police station area at the wee hours today.
The cattle traders, two of them identified as Rajendra Pandey and Pramod Pandey, who are residents of Buxar district in Bihar were nabbed again along with the consignment of cows being taken to Dumdum in Kolkata.
“We were just roughed up by the cow vigilantes and were later handed over to the police,” said Rajendra Pandey.
Rajendra (45) said that they were carrying the cows and calves from Buxar district to Dumdum in Bengal where they have also `khataals’ (cow sheds) for running the milk business.
“As Buxar was not suitable place for the milk business we were shifting the cows and calves to Dumdum by carrying them safely in eight small vehicles when we had been caught near Dimna Chowk on August 30 night. Though we were carrying out no illegal business, the cow vigilantes had attacked us.
