Jamshedpur, June 12: Police have cracked the Marine Drive firing case under Kadma police station area with the arrest of four accused, including a history-sheeter.
A country-made pistol, four live cartridges and two spent shells were seized during the operation.
The accused — Anshu Karmakar (20), Rajesh Lohra (35), Vishal Karmakar and Shubham alias Shivam Lohar — were arrested following an FIR lodged by Samir Nag.
The complainant alleged that the accused opened fire on him and his associates, Sunny Gupta and Vikas Tanti, near Bihari Basti on June 10 and also assaulted them with bricks and stones.
City SP Lalit Meena said a special team was formed to investigate the case.
Acting on intelligence inputs, police apprehended Anshu Karmakar and Rajesh Lohra from the Sati Ghat area along the Kharkai river and recovered the firearm and ammunition used in the crime.
The remaining two accused were arrested later.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that the attack was driven by an old enmity between Anshu Karmakar and Samir Nag.
Police said Rajesh Lohra has a criminal record, with several cases, including murder and theft, registered against him.
All four accused have been sent to judicial custody, while raids are continuing to nab other suspects linked to the firing incident.
