Jamshedpur, May 28: In the ongoing dispute over denial of BPL quota admissions, DAV Public School, Bistupur Principal Pragya Singh appeared before a probe panel at the district headquarters on Wednesday. The investigation was ordered after allegations that the school refused to admit 19 out of 30 BPL students recommended by the administration.

Initially, the school accepted 11 admissions but cited age and distance issues for denying the rest. Following complaints from parents, former DC Ananya Mittal had formed a three-member team headed by ADC Bhagirath Prasad, along with Deputy Municipal Commissioner of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) Krishna Kumar and DSE Ashish Pandey.

During the hearing, the principal agreed to admit 14 additional students. However, admission for five students remains uncertain, as concerns about their age persist. The investigation team will further examine their eligibility before reaching a final decision. The case has highlighted the need for clear guidelines and transparency in implementing BPL quotas.
