Ranchi: Bharatiya Janata Party MLA and former Speaker of Jharkhand Assembly CP Singh today expressed displeasure over the delay in commencement of work despite issuance of tender in the Assembly.

He said two or three contractors had come to meet him and told him this morning that the tender had been awarded for the construction of bridge and culvert three months back. But the department engineers say that the contractors should first meet the minister and then expect the allotment of funds.

He said the last time he had raised the issue of corruption at the training centre in Padma of Hazaribagh where the
leave of absence of jawans was reportedly granted after taking bribe.

He said the government did not take any action against the guilty people. Instead action was taken against the bodyguards of CP Singh, he told the house.

The rural affairs minister said the BJP MLA should first produce proof of his allegations.
