FIR filed at Govindpur PS, injured had rescued 35 cows
Jamshedpur, July 27 : Former JMM MLA Ramdas Soren along with his supporters attacked the house of a Gorakshya Samity activist at Ghorabandha under Govindpur police station area near Telco. The activist and his family members were injured this morning.
Soren, who is also JMM’s East Singhbhum district committee president took the step after the Gorakshya Samity activist, Ashish Pal, had rescued about 35 cows and calves from being smuggled for slaughtering.
Pal, who was attacked by Soren and his about a dozen supporters, has lodged an FIR with the Govindpur police station alleging assault on his wife and elderly parents.
OC, Govindpur police station, Rajesh Ranjan confirmed that Pal had lodged an FIR against Soren and his supporters and that they have already registered a case in connection to assault on Pal and his family members.
” As of now we have registered a case against the JMM leader and former MLA Ramdas Soren. We will take the necessary legal step against the accused persons after investigating the case,” said Ranjan.
According to sources, today morning, Soren came along with his supporters and started abusing the family members of Ashish Pal. When Pal objected, Soren and his men started assaulting the family members, including a young woman of the house.
During the attack on Pal’s house, someone in the locality had informed the Govindpur police, who had rushed to the spot. But by the time the police arrived, Soren had gone away from the scene.
As the news spread, senior SP, AnoopBirthraysoon sent deputy superintendent of police (city) Anujit Singh to the spot for inquiry. Singh had subsequently deputed adequate number of armed police at the spot.
Raman Kumar Singh, spokesperson of Hindu Jagran Manch said Soren has tried to intimidate Pal and his family for not indulging in any protest against ferrying of smuggled cows to an adjoining locality called Bari Nagar where slaughtering of cattles is committed.
“We want action against Soren and other party workers. Pal along with the members of Gorakshya Samity had on Wednesday evening saved 35 cows by taking help of the police. JMM has tried to warn the cow saving activists not to indulge in such acts,” said Singh.
He has demanded the administration to probe incident and to take stern action against those involved in the attack on Pal and his family members.
