Jamshedpur,Oct 18: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das was on Wednesday appointed Governor of Odisha
Das, first non-tribal CM of Jharkhand, will replace Ganeshi Lal.
Das served as the CM of Jharkhand between 2014 and 2019. He was first elected as an MLA in 1995 when Bihar and Jharkhand were one state.

Das is currently serving as a national vice president of the BJP.
Indra Sena Reddy Nallu,on the other hand, has been made Governor of Tripura. He is a BJP leader from Telangana and a three-time MLA. He also held the post of national secretary of the BJP.
In a statement issued by Rashtrapati Bhawan, the appointments will take effect from the dates the newly-appointed Governors assume charge of their respective offices.
Raghubar Das’ political journey has been quite interesting. He started as an employee of Tata Steel and eventually became the Chief Minister of Jharkhand. In 1995, when the BJP fielded him as a candidate from the Jamshedpur (East) assembly constituency, many questioned the party’s decision.
He faced tough competition from veteran Congress leader K.P. Singh and rebel BJP leader Dinanath Pandey.
However, Raghubar Das surprised everyone by emerging victorious. In the 2000 legislative assembly elections, he defeated K.P. Singh once again with a margin of 47,963 votes, showcasing his political acumen.
Although Raghubar Das is originally from Chhattisgarh, he was born on May 3, 1955, in Jamshedpur. Having served as a four-time MLA, he also held the position of Deputy Chief Minister from December 30, 2009, to May 29, 2010.
