Former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren petitions Supreme Court for appearance in Assembly

Ranchi, March 22: Former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren has filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the order of the Jharkhand High Court in which he was not allowed to attend the assembly session.

In his petition, he has demanded that he should be allowed to attend the assembly session to be convened in the coming days.

Actually, Hemant Soren is in judicial custody on charges of alleged money laundering. He had sought permission from the PMLA Court and the High Court to attend the budget session of the Assembly held last month, but both the courts had rejected his petition, refusing to allow him to attend the session.
