Jamshedpur, July 12: Former BJP MLA from Ichagarh constituency, Sadhu Charan Mahto is undergoing treatment for throat cancer simultaneously at Meherbai Tata Memorial Hospital in Jamshedpur and an undisclosed medical facility in Kolkata. Central Minister For Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda met the ailing BJP leader at Kolkata and enquired about his health. The minister noted the visit on his Twitter handle.
Sadhu Charan Mahto has been ailing from cancer since the past one year. As a result he has withdrawn from political activities and his admirers and supporters are unaware of the Kolkata hospital where he is being treated. Arjun Munda met him at Kolkata and wished him speedy recovery.
It may be mentioned that Sadhu Charan Mahto was elected as a legislator from the Ichagarh constituency on a BJP ticket and he served in the capacity for the term 2014-2019. During that tenure, he had been ill and had to be admitted to Tata Main Hospital for treatment. At one point of time he was arrested but had to be admitted to TMH for treatment over a long period of time. His political detractors had then said that Sadhu Charan was spending time in hospital to avoid jail term. But now they have realized that their assumption was wrong although, during that tenure he was suffering from stomach related diseases but there was no trace of cancer. However, that Sadhu Charan Mahto had throat cancer was discovered later.
