Gamharia, August 23: Former Chief Minister Champai Soren, after returning from Delhi and distancing himself from the state’s Indy government, is actively touring the Kolhan region to gauge public sentiment and discuss his future plans. Soren, who has recently parted ways with his previous political affiliations, is meeting with workers and supporters across the area to chart his next steps.
On Friday, Soren visited Gamharia, where he held a meeting at Hotel Avenue with local workers and supporters. During the visit, he outlined his achievements from his brief tenure of five months and discussed potential strategies for the future. The former Chief Minister, who was warmly welcomed by a large gathering of women and supporters, is contemplating forming a new party or finding a new political partner.
In conversations with journalists, Soren expressed that the support he is receiving indicates the people’s continued respect and satisfaction with his previous work. He mentioned that the groundwork for his future political plans is underway and is expected to be finalized soon. Soren confirmed that he does not intend to dismantle his old party, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), nor will he take any of its leaders or members with him.
The visit also saw the presence of several local leaders including District Council President Sonaram Bodra, Zila Parishad member Pinky Mandal, former JMM District President Ranjit Pradhan, and Gamharia Block Chief Anita Tudu, among others.
