Jamshedpur, August 16: Independence Day was celebrated at The Milanee as the nation launched on the 76th year of freedom. Social activist and The Milanee President, Shekhar Dey hoisted the national tricolour as assembled members and guests sang the national anthem. Shekhar Dey, in the course of his speech observed, “While we salute our national flag with great pride, we, at the same time, attribute our respect to our countless freedom fighters and martyrs of the freedom movement who won for us a free Mother India. Much depends on the youth force to carry forward the dreams of every Indian towards greater allround progress amidst an environment of unity.”
Secretary Raju Dutta said that The Milanee has always pursued with determination to uphold the socio-cultural heritage of India in its many splendored hues.
Cultural songs and dances with patriotic flavor were presented by members and their families in a traditional salutation to revolutionaries who gained for the nation a hard-fought freedom.
