Azadi ka Mahotsav at Srinath University Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, August 16: Independence Day celebration at Srinath University was observed with gaiety and contageous patriotic spirit. Adityapur Municipal Corporation Chairman, Girija Shankar Prasad along with Chancellor of Srinath University, Sukhdev Mahto hoisted the Indian Tricolour to pave the way for celebrating 75 years of Independence.

Chief Guest, Girija Shankar Prasad observed on the occasion, “The youth are the future of our country. The task of adding to the allround growth and development of the country rests on the shoulders of the youth. They must cultivate discipline and only then can they become responsible citizens of the country.”

Secretary of the Srinath University Managing Committee, Gurudev Mahto in his address, stated, “The entire country is celebrating 75 years of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Amidst the joy and festive spirit, we should not forget the sacrifices of known and unknown freedom fighters among whom were brave martyrs who gave up their lives to the cause of Indian freedom. We all salute them for the precious gift of Independence.”

 Students and faculties of Srinath University along with the students of Srinath Puiblic School were present to celebrate the joy of 75 years of independence. A cultural programme was organized at the University auditorium. While the Srinath Public School students entranced the audience with well choreographed dances and patriotic songs, their University counterparts presented a dance and choral patriotic song to stir the feeling of nationality and oneness.

Several competitions were organized among the students to enhance the festive spirit among them being Group Discussion and Quiz contests. The winners in the Group Discussions were Anju Mahato of the Department of Commerce and Management (First), Sandeep Kumar of the Department of Education (Second) and Vivek Kapoor of the Department of Commerce and Management (Third). The winners of the Quiz event were Prasenjit and Robin Murmu (First), Manish Amrit and Gourango of the Department of Education (Second) and Abhishekh and Suraj of the Department of Commerce and Management (Third). The vote of thanks offered  by Assistant Professor, Aditi Gupta.
