Jamshedpur, March 21: Tension grips the Adityapur Industrial Area as residents remain on edge following reports of a leopard sighting on March 17th. Despite five days passing since the initial sighting, authorities have yet to capture the elusive feline, amplifying fears among locals.
Recent developments reveal fresh footprints discovered in the bushes near Balmiki Nagar, behind Gamharia Usha Martin, indicating the leopard’s continued presence in the vicinity. Forest Department officials confirm the leopard’s movement towards Gamharia, with its tracks deemed to be recent. The animal is believed to be hiding within the dense foliage of the area, heightening concerns among residents.

Adding to the apprehension, the discovery of two deceased roosters on the main road of Chhota Gamharia has further fueled anxiety. Upon receiving the distressing news, a Forest Department team promptly investigated the scene. However, authorities are inclined to believe that the demise of the roosters was not due to leopard activity but rather attributed it to a canine attack.
In the midst of the unfolding situation, a viral video claiming to depict the successful capture of the leopard has emerged on social media platforms. Dismissing these claims, the Forest Department has denounced the video as fabricated. District Superintendent of Police, Manish Toppo, has affirmed that the police will conduct a thorough investigation into the origins of such misleading content, pledging appropriate legal action against those responsible for its dissemination.
As the search for the elusive leopard continues, residents are urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of all members of the community.
