Five arrested with stolen SUV in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, May 27: Five persons were arrested in connection with the theft of an SUV, a Tata Sumo, from Telco here on Friday. Cops also recovered the stolen vehicle from their possession.

Those arrested were identified as Ravindra Kumar alias Guddu, Chandrashekhar Jaisawal alias Gunjan Yadav, Harvinder Singh alias Monty, Toofan Mandal and Shiv Kumar Patel alias Chhotu, all local residents.

According to Additional SP Sudhanshu Jain, the accused persons had stolen the said vehicle parked in front of Telco Colony Logistics office on 21st May last. The names of the accused persons surfaced in police investigation. After stealing the SUV, the accused had replaced its registration number plate with a fake one. All accused had reached the crime scene on bike. The bikes and mobile phones used by the criminals have been seized, police station.

The ASP said Chandrashekhar Jaisawal already has 13 criminal cases lodged against him. This is the 14th case against him, he said.
